YOUTH CAMP BREIFING

Victory Family Centre Youth Camp 2006
Briefing Notes

Coach
Note: Please know that the pick-up point is at the Youth Centre in Yishun (3 Yishun St 11), refer to map for direction to location.

1. Be at the pick-up point at 730am so we can get everyone organized in their coaches. Coaches will leave PUNCTUALLY at 8.00am SHARP
2. Campers will be assigned to allocated coaches. Refer to name list provided to you
3. Please remember your Coach number and the changing of coach is NOT allowed at any time.
4. Coach number will be displayed at the front of the vehicle.
5. Immigration cards will be distributed in the coach. Please fill up the card before arrival at the checkpoint. Carry a pen along.
6. At the Malaysian Checkpoint, everyone is required to bring all their belongings down from the coach.
7. After clearing immigration and customs, proceed to the Malaysian coaches (different coach) to bring us to the Resort.
8. Please ensure that your “buddy” is with you all the time and ensure that you be informed should he/she leave you.

General Information and Instructions

1. Remember to bring your passport and ensure that it is valid for the next 6 months. For non-Singaporeans, please check your visas requirements.
2. A photocopied copy of your passport is required, if you have not turned it in, please make a copy and bring it with you on the day of departure.
3. NS men are reminded to inform the relevant authorities.
4. Upon arrival in the Desaru Chalet, proceed straight to the meeting hall. Check in will be done after camp orientation

Rooms

1. Room ICs are to collect the room keys.
2. NO changing and swapping of rooms without approval of Derek Liew.
3. A room IC has been appointed to oversee any matter regarding resort rooms. He/she will liaise with camp committee. Please co-operate with him/her in keeping all rules and not hesitate to seek help from him/her in case of need.
4. Anyone needing to leave the camp early for ANY REASON MUST get approval from your Youth Minister before doing so.
5. Boys please stay out of girls’ rooms at all times and girls stay out of boys’ rooms at all time.

Sessions

1. Punctual attendance at all sessions is compulsory
2. Badges/lanyards must be worn at all time for sessions, meals and games etc.
3. Light-outs is at 11.00pm, but please ensure that you have enough sleep.
4. Should you fall sick, please inform you room IC. Room ICs please inform your youth minister.

Dress code

1. Guys
i. No speedo’s! (if that’s all you have, put some shorts over it)
ii. No short shorts… ask Santa for some Bermudas for christmas
2. Girls
i. Jeans or bermudas and sandals are allowed.
ii. Slippers and flip-flops are not allowed.
iii. No tube tops, short shorts, mini-skirts, or bikinis
3. Games
i. Make sure you bring some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty
ii. For girls, wear a dark-colored t-shirt.


Others

1. Please do not loiter around the resort premises ALONE after the night sessions, make sure you have a “buddy” with you. Please also ensure that this “buddy” is not someone of the opposite sex!!
2. Swimming in the ocean is NOT ALLOWED, there have been numerous drownings and deaths at Desaru beach due to the strong current. There is a swimming pool at the hotel you may use.
3. The Bus will stop for a lunch break on the way up to camp, and there are some hawker stalls at the camp site. Bring some cash for your lunch on Monday.
4. Should there be any enquires, please feel free to call you respective Net leader and Net Ministers or Youth Coordinators.
5. Lastly lets have a good time and lets Believe God for a fantastic time in the youth camp.


Things to Bring

1. Passport (Valid for at least 6 months)
2. Bible
3. Pillow (Optional)
4. Swimsuit (Optional)
5. Games attire (You may get wet)
6. Enough clothing for 4 days
7. A “Hollywood” themed outfit for our theme dinner
8. Toiletries – toothbrush, soap and shampoo etc (Sunblock and sunglasses are optional)
9. Snacks (optional- there is a provision shop at the campsite)


Things to bring:

1. Valid passport (At least 6 months valid)
2. Bible & writing materials
3. Clothes enough for 4 days
Decent attire for sessions
Games – wet wear/swim wear – ONE PIECE ONLY
4. Long pants: Nature walk
5. Jacket/Windbreaker
6. Sleeping bag
7. Shoes (1 pair sandals & 1 pair sneakers)
8. Toiletries
9. Towel
10. Insect repellent, sunscreen
11. 1.5L mineral water/ your own water bottle
12. Spending money of RM

– RM 55 per half hour or RM 70 per hour for 2 people
