lifesong
i no longer live
the body would be consumed
by the world but
the spirit is a sacrifice
a living fire at the altar
to the one up there
like oil in that alabaster
jar i pour this heart
at his feet when
he deserves so much more
than the praises sung
and glory given
the never ending shouts and cries
which echoes his name
resound greatness
yet never close enough to define him
who above all is the
Great I Am.
