FW: Vicks Vaporub - Good info

*got this forwarded email...duno if it reallie helps...no harm trying...rite?
anyway kiddos~ weather has been very unpredictable these days...take goooooood care of yourselves okay? God Bless u all dearies~*

To stop nighttime coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime then cover with socks.
Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescriptions cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.
I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings on behalf of their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like accupressure. I Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was a surprising finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, and in addition, it has a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly . Lolly tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it
felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her. Her coughing stopped in a few minutes and believe me, this was a deep,( incredibly annoying!) every few seconds uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough free for hours every night that she used it. So, if you have children, pass it on, if you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed by the effect

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR~

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR

A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair sat beside his bed.
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit. "I guess you were expecting me, he said. 'No, who are you?" said the father. The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.
"Would you mind closing the door?" Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.
"But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head."
" I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, " until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus. Here is what I suggest."
"Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always'.
"Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now." "So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though . If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm." The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
"Did he die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock , he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him .
But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
*I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean.
* I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.
* I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU... If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

What a difference it will make.

I got up early one morning and rushed right into day.
Ive got so much to accomplish that
I didn't have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,
heavier came each task.
"Why doesnt God help me?", I wondered.
He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didnt show me
He said, "But you didnt seek."

I tried to come into God's presence.
I used all my keys at the lock,
God gently and lovingly chided
"My child you didnt knock."

I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.

And Today was indeed A better Day. (:

Pots- A Beautiful Thought

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water, at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."
The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Friday's Message

---

You broke the night like the sun
And healed my heart with Your great love
Any trouble couldn't bear
You lifted me upon Your sholders

You stand upon mountain tops with me
With You I walk through the valleys
Your grace is all I rely on

Love that's stronger
Love that covers sin
And takes the weight of the world

I love You
All of my hope is in You
Jesus Christ take my life
Take all of me...

---

hello dear friends,

This thought has been burdening me the whole day. Today is Good Friday. And thousands of years ago, on this very day, Jesus Christ, our God and Father, was struck, beaten and tortured, until He died on the cross. He hung on that cross for our sins and our wrong doings - the bad things we done in which have looked past, things we have done in which we are not proud of, the ugliness of our hearts and actions... These all deserved a heavy punishment. Yet, we sit here today, by our computers, with our hands free of nail-pierced scars.

As we live our lives everyday, I hope you won't forget that we are only where we are because of Jesus' grace and what He did for us on the cross. He loves us unconditionally, even though our love is not always faithful. He forgives us and gives us second chances, even though our repentance might not be lasting or sincere. He is our loving God, our giving Father.

I hope after reading this, you will take some time reflecting on your self and what God already has done in your life. And if you are ready, do talk to Him. For He misses us and longs for the time in fellowship which we give unto Him.

Let this Good Friday be a day of thanksgiving. :)

Cheers.

Becoming a Family Workshops

Session One – Relating with One Another

Covenant Friends (recommended for youths)
We live in a very impersonal and materialistic society. We strive to be successful but end up feeling empty because we do not make relationships a priority. Find out how you can benefit from, engage in and develop covenant friendships.

Life Words
The things we say don’t break bones but they have the potential for building or destroying. This seminar will encourage the ministry of creating with words. It will also provide guidelines that strengthen the ability to speak with wisdom.

Running with Faith Giants
In the race of life, we are never alone. Other began before us. This seminar will reveal veterans of the race among us and how we can let them cheer us on as we move toward the finish line.

A Beautiful Mind
We need to value people in the same way God values them. Jesus saw Peter beyond his failures. He knew Peter would become a rock. Come and learn to be like Jesus. He believes in you and me.

Second Chance, Second Mile
Have you been hurt before? Are you afraid of being emotionally vulnerable again? Would you risk you heart again? This workshop will help you manage emotional debts from the past so that you will dare to love again, without hindrances.

Get Real!
Everyone wants down-to-earth relationships. But down-to-earth relationships start only when people behave genuinely. This workshop will help unmask you and show you how to build an emotional haven where down-to-earth relationships are possible and fun.

Peace Talks
Unfortunately, conflicts can be a part of everyday life. Having the skills to be a ‘Person of Peace’ can help you diffuse difficulties, resolve conflict and bring agreement. Come and learn how to have ‘Peace Talks’ in the home, school, workplace and ministry.

Pass it Forward
Some of our closest and most rewarding relationships come about through mentoring. Jesus Himself spent time and poured His life into His twelve. Pass it forward – as you reproduce yourself in others. Surely there is no success without a successor!

Session Two – Caring for One Another
Beyond Touch ‘N’ Go
Like parents who ensure the success of their children, as Christians, we must likewise engage in relationships beyond ‘touch n go’ to secure the future and furtherance of our faith. This workshop brings understanding of what it takes to invest meaningfully in other’s lives.

Prata for the VFC Souls
Refreshment and nourishment build the strength of any body, including the Body of Christ. This seminar will outline how we stimulate each other on to love and good deeds through acceptance, friendship and fellowship.

Love in Many Languages
Learn some skills that will help you in your home, workplace, and ministry. Understanding how to “communicate care” can really help you avoid frustrating misunderstandings. This seminar will profile the 5 love languages you need to learn.

A Pat on the Back Keeps Away the Packing of the Bag
Words of encouragement go a long way in motivating people to good behaviour. A pat on the back when someone does the right thing makes the person want to do more. This workshop equips you with practical tips on effective motivation.

The Priority of One (Leaving the 99 to seek after the one who is lost)
No one likes to be left out. But there are people who somehow have difficulty connecting with others and will be left out. If this describes someone you know, come and learn how to be a channel to help them to connect to others.

Genuine Care
In this superficial world, many keep hurts, loneliness and confusion deep in their heart, including those in church. All of us yearn for that one special word, one special touch, one special friend. Come and learn how to genuinely care and create a church that is truly Family.

An Appraisal Letter

Something interesting & creative !!!!!!

AN APPRAISAL LETTER

Dear Manager (HR),

Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be found
hard at work in his cubicle. Bob works independently, without
wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob never
thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and he always
finishes given assignments on time. Often Bob takes extended
measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping coffee
breaks. Bob is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no
vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound
knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Bob can be
classed as a high-calibre employee, the type which cannot be
dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Bob be
promoted to executive management, and a proposal will be
sent away as soon as possible.
Signed - Project Leader

A MEMO WAS SOON SENT FOLLOWING THE LETTER:
Dear Manager (HR),

That stupid idiot was reading over my shoulder when I wrote
the report sent to you earlier today. Kindly read only the
odd lines 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 for my true assessment of him.

count your blessings [if it's even countable that is]

"just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. "

you'll nvr knw how much your parents love you, till you become one yourself.

"Thankyou Jesus for my daddy and mummy."
