smile at the storm

one rainy day,
a mother went to pick up her boy from school,
thinking that he would fear the lightning.
on the way back she found her son smiling at the sky for every lightning
she asked him why he smiled.
the little boy answered"God is takin my photo, so i have to look good thats why i smiled"
SOOO.. from this, smile when you face a storm because we serve a God who is always watchin us!
AND...caring for us every step of the way=D

i have a two questions

i was just thinking about this when i saw carmen's friend and the response our church give to new comers.

Are Christians 'fake', 'over-friendly' or even.. 'scary'?

cause sometimes i think we are too friendly for our own good and we make new comers uncomfortable. i know we want them to feel like home but is there any other way?

Do You have time for God?

Hope this message will add value to our christian lives.
It has for me.
God, when I received this e-mail, I thought... I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work. Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is... Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today. We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning..> Maybe, Sunday night... And, the unlikely event of a midweek service. We do like to have Him around during sickness..> And, of course, at funerals. However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play... Because.. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own. May God forgive me for ever thinking... That... there is a time or place where.. HE is not to be FIRST in my life. We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.
Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
This is the simplest test. If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you.

THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
'Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time'

Easy vs. Hard
Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?
Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?
Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e- mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?
Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger?
Do you give up? Think about it . Just remember-God is watching you.
Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one....
There are no costs, but wonderful rewards... GOD BLESS!
May God keep you and bless you. If this doesn't give you chills, nothing will...this message is very true.
There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak...'I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, 'What you got there, son?' 'Just some old birds,' came the reply.'What are you gonna do with them?' I asked. 'Take 'em home and have fun with 'em,' he answered 'I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time' 'But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do?' 'Oh, I got some cats,' said the little boy. 'They like birds. I'll take 'em to them.'> The pastor was silent for a moment. 'How much do you want for those birds, son?'> 'Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!'
'How much?' the pastor asked again.
The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, '$10?'> The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.
The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story. One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. 'Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!' 'What are you going to do with them?'
Jesus asked. Satan replied, 'Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!' 'And what will you do when you get done with them?' Jesus asked. 'Oh, I'll kill 'em,' Satan glared proudly. 'How much do you want for them?' Jesus asked> 'Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!' 'How much?' He asked again. Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, 'All your blood, tears and your life.' Jesus said, 'DONE!'
Then He paid the price.
The pastor picked up the cage he opened the door and he walked from the pulpit. Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Isn't it funny how someone can say 'I believe in God' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God).> Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing? Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.

URGENT NEED FOR PRAYER!!!

Brothers n sisters!! xD!!!!

Everyone's prayer counts!

last night after net i have the honour of leading my fren to christ over the phone! ( for the 3rd time??) Its a sticky situation as he wans to go back to Christ but his parents are threatening him with suicides or throwin him out-of-the-house kind of stuff if he becomes a christian. Its a sticky problem coz the father don like me (but pretends to accept me) due to past time of me sharing Christ to tis fren of mine. I told him to get saved 1st as that is the most impt thing in the Universe! He wans to go back to God also for his aunt's sake who is dying due to Cancer and he KNOWS that she needs Jesus Christ b4 she stop breathing! Time is short as the Doctors pronounced her hopeless. However, tis is ours to believe, that God can DO all things. Nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ our LORD

His name is Yu Sheng plz keep him in prayer that tis time he will survive with Christ. In the past i've problems with consolidating him but now i've got NET!! :D ( JL ) however, getting him out of house WITHOUT lying is also a feat to be achieved. Pray that God keep him.
Pray also for me for wisdom as i ask leaders for help. Pray also the leaders will have wisdom to help me . :D Intercession will also b needed :D
Pray also for the spirit of God to move mightily even in this and let us have faith in GOD! For if a prayer moves a mountain yet it doesnt save anyone, it is then nothing. with that, God bless u all n i thank those who care to pray :)

To my LORD, the King of Kings :D

A sonnet for my King

A song that only my life can sing,
I give you my life and my days
A soul that only your Love can save
I live to show them the Way
Yet, by my eyes of scrutiny
I sight the surface with scars unseen
Through the touch of mine irony,
They are dried up, hanged, left to feel empty
Let it be that they see the holes in my Hand
When embraced, theyll know they have speared Your side
My eyes will see beyond that which I condemn
Arms that wrapped me will feel of your strips
With all that is given, let it all be forgiven
With you alive and written, I am, the Jesus for the moment

H. Silas T

Nicholas Says...

So...
They thought we should be perfect.
They thought we should be stainless and clean.
They thought we should always say the right things.
They thought we were not allowed to make any mistakes.

But...
We ate the same food they ate!
We looked the same way they looked!
We dwell in the same place they dwell!
We spoke the same language they spoke!

And...
They mocked us for our ways and beliefs.
They mocked us for being different and unique.
They mocked us for shinning so bright and warm.
They mocked us for reading the facts and teachings.

Then...
We asked for hope that they would be like us!
We asked for strength to not give up on them!
We asked for love from the One they do not know about!
We asked for forgiveness even if they were giving us such a hard time!

river

When you look up at the night skies, the stars, the moon, decorated the surface. Beyond that is nothing but dark outer space. As the night's breeze swept pass, does it make you wonder how many people shared this breeze with you? You close your eyes, trying to catch a slight sound but all you could hear is the rustling of the trees dancing in the wind. Looking back up at the sky, can you imaging God is up there looking down upon us? His hand over the skies, protecting something.

In a night like this, it makes me wonder, how small we are. We are like a single drop of water in a basin. But God still singled out every drop of water and make them special in their own way, for every drop matters. One drop is small, however, more drops make a cup, even more drops make a puddle.

To say 'It doesn't matter if I'm alive or not! It doesn't make any difference!', is somehow unfair. He treated everyone of us specially but some still treated themselves insignificantly. When one is taken out, nothing will stay the same anymore. Some may think they did not contribute much to the group but a small giggle, a 'yeah!', a wave of hands, or even being there, is already a great contribution.

If God sees each and everyone of us as important, we should do the same. No one is insignificant to begin with. Young and old, decent and unglamorous, quiet and chatty ones, include all of them into our puddle!

One day, let it become a river that flows.
